My accredited training has given me licensure as a doctor of naturopathic medicine (ND), as a doctor of Oriental medicine with expanded prescriptive authority (DOM Rx2), and as a registered nurse (RN). While an undergraduate and graduate student in pre-medicine and psychology, I was dismayed by the lack of focus in conventional medical training on the influence of lifestyle on health and disease. Seeking to expand the standard concepts of health and prevention, I went on to earn an ND in 2001 from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, AZ. In 2003, I completed the Oriental medicine program at the International Institute of Chinese Medicine in Albuquerque. I maintain my nursing skills at the University of New Mexico Hospital. My passion is in combining these varied and valuable approaches to profoundly improve health and vitality.

Health Care Licensure

There is currently no regulation over the use of the title “ND” or “naturopath” in New Mexico. As an issue of public safety, I maintain my ND license in Vermont to demonstrate that my training meets the standards required to obtain licensure as a primary care physician in naturopathic medicine. Being trained as an Oriental medicine practitioner (DOM), I am licensed as a primary health care provider in New Mexico.

I am the only physician in Albuquerque licensed in both naturopathic and Oriental medicine.
