My Story

As long as I can remember I had been suffering from digestive problems. Acid reflux, a bloated abdomen, indigestion, and constipation were just a few of the symptoms I experienced. At the age of sixteen my tonsils had to be removed. At the age of nineteen I had a duodenal ulcer and by twenty-four my appendix had to be removed because of chronic inflammation.

I accepted my digestive problems as a part of my genetic make-up. My grandmother had suffered from them too and as long as I can remember my father had digestive problems (he died of stomach cancer), and so did my brother. It was easy for me to draw the conclusion that digestive problems run in my family. Living with the discomfort became just part of my life, which I accepted.

In 2001 my gallbladder had to be removed as a result of chronic inflammation. That was a blessing in the sense that it changed my life for good. I finally started to see the connection between my diet and the removal of the organs. Not a single medical doctor ever made a reference to that. It was a massage therapist who put me in the right direction and on the right path. She suggested that my Dutch, meat and dairy, diet was maybe not so good for me. Was she ever right!!!

Gradually I was able to change my diet away from acid forming meats and dairy, and introduce more alkaline foods like vegetables and fruits. Five years later, and experimenting with foods, I can say I have never felt so good in my life as now. In the meantime I have done many digestive cleanses, some fasts, and lots and lots of colonics.

I would like to encourage you too to consider thinking about how your food affects every cell in your body. When we say our food is our fuel, do we really understand the depth of that? It is easy to say, but when it comes to making healthy choices that is not always easy to do. It took me many years of thinking of myself as a genetic victim preventing myself from taking action to better health.

Through colonics I came to realize how impacted my colon was. Our colon is a muscle, and can not work properly with all this impacted material stuck to it. Once you experience the difference between a clean and impacted colon, you know what I am talking about. Bonus here is once the colon is clean you can think more clearly too. It is like opening up every channel in your being to be fully alive. What an experience.

Have the guts to clean your gut!!!
